It’s crazy that don’t see how long Jolie has been manipulating you with images like this. There really is a sucker born every minute.

This and also Ethridge’s claims that Jolies “Fixer” contacted her after an interview with Andy Cohen makes me believe Jolie’s after EVERYONE.
she sent melissa etheridge a stfu last week too, melissa turned it around and wrong a pretty funny song about the whole thing. http://www.bravotv.com/watch-what-happens-live/season-13/episode-161/videos/melissa-etheridge-performs-an-original-song
didn’t Perez get famous by poorly doodling jizz and coke on celebrity pictures, particularly women? Not terribly upset at the prospect of Angelina suing him. He sounds particularly man-babyish in that message.
Angie just looks worse and worse.
Too bad that’s like saying the nuTrek movies are one and the same as oldTrek. It just don’t fit.
Yes. Unbeknownst to Roland, “The Horn of Eld” was actually just a factory hood-mounted air horn broken off of a 1962 Cadillac Eldorado wrecked by its ninth owner in a drunk driving accident.
oh I get it’s a change - either intentional sequel or a hand wave excuse of “don’t fault us for not being perfectly true to the source” - but it would be a major change for the worse.
Wait... Jake doesn’t die to change worlds?
But it was a weird choice for him to make based on his personal history. I read that his rape trial was on his wiki page before this whole thing started. He had to have known that using that title alone could have brought it into the public consciousness. Dude is at least subconsciously bringing up rape every way he…
It was a super weird choice for him- I get what he was trying to do, but with his personal history, which was already public, it’s bizarre. BoaN is focused on the ‘need’ for white men to save white women from rape by black men....
Also, the 1915 The Birth of a Nation is a very important film in the history of cinema. Obviously glorifying the KKK is abhorrent, but this was the first full-length motion picture. So, to take a film that is an important part of both film history and American history and use that title to tell a story in an…
That pissed me off so much.
I always wondered if this movie was truly a good movie or if people, specifically white people, really wanted this movie to be good and sweep the Oscars after last year’s all white Oscars controversy. This movie needed women to support it and it didn’t happen. I don’t really think it was the rape trial as much as it…
A couple of overprivileged white folks see it at the festival, think it will make them look woke af to distribute it, and bid exorbitant amounts of money that create unmeetable expectations. If they had just watched the movie, instead of fantasizing about all the awards and money they could make off of these black…
Wrong thread?
Hurricane Rape Allegation is a terrible name choice.
I’ll be honest, whenever I hear “The Birth of a Nation” I immediately think of the famous silent film known for its racists depictions of black people and somewhat positive view towards the KKK.
Did anyone else feel like the ad campaigns for this movie using Black Lives Matter footage were super tacky? I get where they’re going with it, the historical context is relevant to what’s happening now, but ultimately they’re using a social movement (and indirectly, the deaths of black men) to sell tickets.
Controversy aside, it seems like. . .maybe it wasn’t that good of a movie? I’ve been reading “struggled” a lot when it comes to BoaN, and not just with box office returns.
