I've been flex dieting, with some alcohol drinking. I have a very low fat allotment. Can't I take my whole alcohol calories and count them as carbs instead? (I know alcohol is 7 cals per gram and carbs are 4 cals per gram.) Why use the "10 grams of fat" rule?

I have an aging Mac for work, and I run Windows XP on VMWare for certain programs I need. Would this take up fewer resources than VMWare? I literally cannot run anything else when I have VMWare going, and even running that is ridiculously slow.
