Oh reallly? So the EPA’s intent was exactly what I, and others were trying to say for months on this while you guys published strawman headlines supporting the obtuse position of SEMA how fives absolutely zero fucks about anything other than profit forbits members.

The EPA doesn’t charge for testing...you do it yourself (our hire a third party) and just submitted your results.

^^ Came here to post this ^^

There is pretty much more everything at that price point. NVH standards in 2005 (even for Bentley) are a long ways form today. Hell, a current Accord likely delivers a smother, quieter ride and sharper handling.

There is also an element of truth to what you are saying...but there is a lot more “most for their money” elsewhere at a $42k price point.

Going to reserve final judgement until there are some real pics out....while I’m not an expert these look like photoshop/renderings which always end up being a little bit different than the real deal.

To me it doesn’t look grille-less (neither does the X) it looks like it’s mid way through getting a wrap and they haven’t cut out the grille yet?? That grill is still there... Someone has just spackled over it in an attempt to try and subdue it.

I’m sure he does, but I doubt Hamilton is sharing in the sponsorship and promotion dollars he’s receiving for his snapchats. Bernie just wants his piece like the greedy little troll he is. If he doesn’t get his, he wants no one to get any.

Well, it’s not that it must have a hatch, it’s that it must have a reasonable and practical trunk opening.

Every time Ballaban writes about Tesla these days I puke in m mouth a little...these articles aren’t even editorials anymore, they are Tesla ads.

No, but as I said, they are at least 2 (maybe 3) years from deliveries so that would seem like enough time to make a change if it was deemed necessary.

Point taken...but in Tesla’s case the answer still would have been to design a sedan without a glass roof that prevented a reasonable trunk opening.

Yeah, we’re looking at the Diono Radian R100/120 as an option once they both are FF but I have a thing about feet/shoes on the backs of the seats so regardless it’s going to be a challenge.

First deliveries are almost 2 years away (late 2017/early 2018) and with Tesla’s history of hitting dates that could easily push to mid-late 2018 or even later.

Not sure if you;re comment was serious but I don’t think many folks looking at a $35k car are going to decide to pay $80k for a trunk.

Form over function is the wrong choice when you are looking at a high volume model to appeal to the mass market. It’s fine if you’re looking to sell 911 kind of volumes but not C-class kind of volumes.

By age 4 I would total agree. We have a 2 year old and a 2 month old. We strap the newborn in to a Bjorn which is easy but if we’re going somewhere that requires more than 5-10 mins of walking the stroller is a requirement for the 2 year old. Those little legs don’t move very fast and rarely in the right direction...

Except it’s not a full size, it’s a mid size according to Edmonds and every other authority on the subject. And in that segment it was out sold by the 5 series and the E class. Hell, even the MKZ out sold it, although it did manage to beat the A6.

Not even trying? Easy there sparky.... While the reservation figures are certainly impressive there was a massive effort, hundreds of thousands of man hours and hundreds of millions of dollars invested to get it to this point which is essentially a concept reveal (albeit a close-to-production concept). That’s a lot of

I dont own one so I’m going off of the owner feedback on Tesla’s forums. Those first hand accounts suggest these things do in fact effect range by measurable amounts.
