Agreed. I spent a good number of years in fear of being the victim of a murder/suicide at the hands of my boyfriend. He went the suicide route instead.

That after the first two Nobel awards this year, in usually overwhelmingly historically male-dominated fields, the women lead the men, I see it as at least a small sign of hope that things are trending positively. This has made 2020 look a little less bleak to me.
Earlier this week, Andrea Ghez became only the fourth woman to win the Nobel Prize in Physics. Madame Curie was the first.
Take care of yourself the best way you know how. I hope things improve for you soon.
I’m normally pretty unbothered by heavy things, but I’ve had a really bad year on a personal level outside of politics or COVID. I haven’t been able to watch much drama or anything serious. Mr. Levy wanted to start a new meaty/dramatic series that we watch together, but I kept vetoing the suggestions. We finally…
I wouldn’t call it entertainment, at least not for women watching (and hopefully most men.) I do think it’s important to occasionally watch and/or read news stories like this though, because it keeps you from being too naive about human nature. As horrifying as it is, it’s better to have an understanding of the kinds…
My husband & I watched last night up until he started confessing the actual truth. We have a tiny human close in age to those girls and after watching those intimate home movies it was too much to hear.
I thought one thing in particular was really huge with this documentary: ending it by noting that these murders are almost always *premeditated*.
Because let’s be real here: this was. MAYBE Chris didn’t plan for it to be that day, that moment. But it was happening. He didn’t “snap” based upon the physical evidence in…
There seems to be something here about not having the intelligence to realise how little you know. A moderately intelligent person realises how hard something is and how they may not be able to get away with murder.
School kids need to be educated about MLMs. Start it in middle school. Right along with critical thinking skills.
This. I know a lot about the case due to true crime podcasts covering it. The trailer was chilling enough for me to nope out for now. I want stand-up, Schitt’s Creek, The Good Place, etc. for now.
I think the strangest of it all was how he was completely going through the motions in his texts. Even before the murders were planned, he never replied angry or frustrated. It freaked me out. The way he talked about women were my red flags, but I wouldn’t have known it would have ever turned into a murder.
hahaha... I was watching this with my fiance, and I started hitting the gym (age 41) about 6 months ago... when this section of the movie came on, I got some serious side eye. Thankfully mine was health related and she knows this. I think she does... shit... I gotta go...
That female investigator/interrogator was amazing. She did such a good job at playing the semi-compassionate, empathetic role, but cajoling him into giving up the details.
I knew my ex was cheating when he started trimming his pubes.
Shanann and Chris’ relationship confused me. Was he just the type to promise and gaslight in texts but just couldn’t muster up the genuine affection in person? Was he just staving off her disappointment & heartbreak by replying to texts so “sweetly”? Were the film makers alluding to Shanann’s obsession with…
I was actually really impressed that the Police pointed out what most women already know... If your man is suddenly getting really into fitness... he might be a cheater. (#notallfitmen)
Can we just stop exploiting murders for entertainment?
add this to my growing list of “interesting documentaries that are WAY too heavy to watch knee-deep in a pandemic and possibly democracy-killing election cycle”.
From this article, “The couple, who also took in the Watts family’s dog, Deeter, until Shanann’s family could pick him up,”
