I think you might be thinking of Nick Simmons, Gene Simmons son. He had a comic called Incarnate that he wrote and drew and was accused of copying from a bunch of manga, most notably, Bleach.

Xavin explicitly says they are a Xartan. It’s another lesser well known shapeshifter alien race in the Marvel universe. I’m still pretty sure Majesdanians weren’t named though.

Yeah it was renewed for seasons 8 and 9 January 2017 and then was renewed for season 10 August 2018.  No one ever said it would be the final season.
