My least favorite thing about the death penalty is that it forces the court system (and the public vicariously) to litigate which murderers are the *especially* bad ones who deserve this cruel and pretty rare punishment.

There’s no one else that has even close to a majority, so the likeliest result is McCarthy gets there on the 20th ballot or whatever after promising what’s left of the scraps of his soul to Boebert and Gaetz et al.

You have to be major league tone deaf to announce your plans to combat “big tech censorship” the night after Elon Musk banned a dozen major, left-leaning journalists from Twitter without an ounce of explanation.
