But clarification of the role is what was missing. If anything probably misleading to emphasise "Researcher at Microsoft" which combined with "mobile development" leads one to assume the two are linked but I guess they're independent things and not what we may think of as a researcher role, certainly not product

Not in comparison to native development was my point as a primary mobile device. Yes if you're going cross platform important to have an iOS device but you'd assume native platform would be priority so primary device would be native then other platform devices would be secondary, tertiary etc. Since she has nothing to

I'm not anti-MS or anti-Mac, I use both daily. But I am surprised at the blatant lack of Microsoft products here. Even down to using Evernote instead of Onenote.

There's also Treehouse (teamtreehouse.com) now accepting for their subscriptions.

My best success has come from not using dating specific sites. A bit like the meetup example. I don't know whether it's meeting people through a dating site adds extra pressure on or something, but meeting people outside of an explicit dating context allows you to just socialise in a more "normal" way and just to be

Not easy to do multiplatform development for work without Apple environment. So I'd actually be losing money by not getting a Mac as I'm hampering my work capability otherwise. Vast majority of my work is on Windows but I actually found to get the best laptop that would also allow me to compile for all platforms

And things can be "synthetic" and organic. Such an overused word that actually does have a strict definition in science. (I used to do research in organic electronics).

330 ml is the standard beer glass bottle and classic coke glass bottle here (UK) and in many countries I've been to. I can't remember what the USA sizes are though but I guess the website has to pick some sort of standard across the countries.
e.g. http://www.tesco.com/groceries/Prod…

As I'm considering moving country, or travelling at least, this is an incredibly useful site.

I'd add a caveat that it depends where it is that there may be weather considerations. Last 6am flight I had (in Colombia) was delayed due to bad weather in early morning which was more likely than later in the day, which meant missing my connection and made my entire journey 36 hours instead of 24.

But they're not the same. All applications are programs but not all programs are applications. A program is just a sequence of instructions to be executed.

That's what I mean, here in the UK we say Lego as the plural. We were also too busy building some awesome shit with our lego. ;)

I know this is off topic but it always looks and sounds so weird to me using the word "Legos", which is never used here in UK. We just say Lego.

Not even legal to back up/rip your own discs here in UK :( (soon to change hopefully although even then bypassing copy protection will still invalidate any allowance in making a copy).

I don't know just how different the UK is for tax etc but I'm surprised how many of the documents mentioned I don't have paper copies of in the first place. E.g. tax records, tax returns, bills, business license, bank statements, warranties are all digital. Besides things like birth, degree certificates I can't think

Just bought one a couple of days ago. Love it. Simple, effective and quick.

This has reminded me to ask when the UK version of Lifehacker goes live. This is perfect example of poll/article that needs "localisation". Can't use Mint for UK for example. Nearest equivalent we have is Money Dashboard (which is still in its infancy as far as features go). I actually do use YNAB because it caters

It's like they don't care they're reducing my security check score on Lastpass.

Lastpass never fail to surprise me in their attempt to genuinely help their users security and in an easy a manner as possible.
