To be fair, the galaxy is so unfathomably huge that it should never really feel “full” (even if the game had a billion players, that would still amount to roughly 1 player in every 100 star systems), but I do agree that including cross-platform play would be a great addition to the game.

It’s mainly single player, but you can join friends in wings or private groups. People are fairly sparse generally, even in open mode, but you can find them if you want to by going to popular systems or community goals. but there’s a greater risk of being randomly attacked.
