My favorite cookies are little meringue puffs flavored with almost anything you can think of. Instant espresso made an excellent add in. Crush up some starlight mints in there too and I don’t need another cookie for the rest of my life.
I bring home the instant coffee packets from the hotel rooms just for mom to use in her coffee icing.
I find a lot of protein powders overly sweet. A hit of instant coffee ads some bitterness and takes the edge off, plus the added caffeine is a an energy boost.
I’ve twice bought instant espresso for coffee cheesecakes.
I hate instant coffee (even Cafe Bustelo) with a passion. I will drink it only if there are no other sources of caffeine available.
If you think you don’t care for instant coffee I dare you to go and spend $6 on a jar of Cafe Bustello.
My mother in law can best be described with the Southern phrase “Bless her heart”. I was over at her house for a holiday dinner. I saw her putting instant coffee in the Mr. Coffee, just like regular coffee. I guess it made “something”, but I didn’t try it. She didn’t know there was a difference. A couple of years…
This. I ended up specifically going out and buying instant coffee for tiramisu last time I made it because I don’t normally have it on hand.
I don't even drink coffee but I keep a jar of instant espresso around to cook with.
Doesn’t most of the coffee drinking world drink instant coffee? I could’ve sworn I read that somewhere.
You missed chili. One of my favorite chili recipes uses a instant coffee and cocoa to bring out some of the dark and savory flavors of the meat, beans and of course the chilies.
Try sprinkling some on ice cream. I like it in cold milk with other flavorings. I want credit for adding it to Cream of Wheat and creating caffeinated breakfast cereal.
So, I guess snorting is not an option?
I have some sauerkraut in my fridge now. Can’t wait to try this. I am trying in the blender with the tofu. I LOVED feta pre vegan. And anyway I can recreate it, I am totally down. I do make a tofu feta. With extra firm. That is out of this world. My non vegan daughter fights me for it. Haha. ButBut this is much…
Will definitely be trying this out tonight. And the pub cheese idea too.
The child-friendly version sounds like it would make better-than-usual vegan mac and cheese.
FWIW... you can make miso pickles, by burying sliced veg in miso paste. They’re really good, if you like miso!
This sounds . . . uh . . . interesting.
Another not-cheese thing you can do is to use shio koji and tofu, which is not instant but in a day or two you will have a block of tofu that tastes distinctly bacterial in a way that is similar to cheese.
I mean, this sounds delicious, but nothing like cheese. I'll give it a go, because I love kraut, but I'm skeptical.
