I really want to know what’s in the briefcase. I mean - the only reason to bring it is as a fashion accessory, it’s not like he was taking notes or something. So it’s empty, right?

I didn’t defend anyone. In fact, I explicitly stated that performing this check only on this couple is clearly racially motivated. I agree that the assumptions you stated are offensive as hell, that doesn’t change the fact that the Southwest employee clearly made them.
While you are correct that this is a legitimate check that gets done, I think you are wrong to say there is nothing racist here. My wife does not have the same last name as our children, and we have never been asked to provide any proof of parenthood or custody.
The Southwest employee was checking against the possibility that the father was stealing his child and running away with his white girlfriend. While the application of the check is definitely racially motivated, it is a real thing. From Air Canada’s website:
The birth certificate has the names of the parents on it, thus confirming Gottlieb as the mother of the child.
Yeah but if you pour a bucket of water onto it it turns to obsidian.
Yeah... Habs fan here (so neutral to this game) and that’s absolutely goalie interference. If Arvidsson doesn’t push his stick into Luongo’s glove causing the spin and the puck to come loose, the play gets whistled dead. This could have even been justified under the “intent to blow” rule if the ref had called it…
“peeks under the covers to confirm Murray is wearing pants”
Pedro Martinez lost a perfect games in the 10th in 1995.
Intentional or not, I don’t see how Korea doesn’t get disqualified for that... It’s also kind of odd that Canada got disqualified for interfering with a skater that had been disqualified.
The WR is kind of pointless in this event as it is all about tactics and not just going out full speed.
Ummm.... no. I don’t know what world you live in that you think his carotid artery and jugular vein were severed by his mask.
Disappointed that no one else seems to have made a small hands joke here yet...
What you are looking for is the Canadian coverage. Spread across CBC, Sportsnet, and TSN, it covers almost everything live. Major focus is obviously on Canadians, but I watched the entire women’s half-pipe final live and there were no Canadians competing.
This would 100% be a better movie with Keanu Reeves in all the roles.
That would be a cool opinion expect for the fact that the French judge admitted her vote was bought...
They also explained this on the CBC broadcast. Essentially, the US had very little chance to catch Canada or Russia, so he did a safe routine to make sure to hold off Italy for the bronze.
Maybe I’m mis-remembering, but I thought the back flip came at least partially from the fact that she felt she got hosed on her short program scores?
As others have said, funny angle.
