Props if he was using ingame stuff only to achieve this to mess with / troll people.
But even if only trolling...in a multiplayer game...if he used outside programs to achieve this...then that is a cheat and should a ban / removable offense.

EA did this to our game / mod years ago. Renegade X.
We remade EA’s old Renegade on UDK (unreal 3) and wanted to keep going by redoing in Unreal 4.
EA basically said the same thing. “Please stop using our logos, etc. You can confuse people by thinking you are affiliated with us.”
The team is still going, slowly but…
