991 is the generation of the car, which is a 911. So it's a 991 911.
This.
I remember seeing the Army's actual annual fuel cost in $ in one of the stories about the FED Bravo from a while back. It was crazy.
Which % are missing? They add up to 93%, which is the portion of governmental fuel consumption that belongs to the DoD.
No, that one did seem pretty obvious to me as well. The breakdown is supposedly 82% jet fuel, 16% facility management and 2% ground vehicle/equipment.
[Some asinine, disrespectful comment that reignites the whole argument just as it was about to die down on its own]
Or just compare it to what the DoD's expenditures are for fuel in a given year. It wouldn't even be statistically relevant in comparison (emphases mine).
I don't ride in livery cars very often, but the last two I have used were both all-black Suburbans. And one dude in DC that I used via uber had an Audi Q7, but that's gotta be pretty rare.
We did successfully lobby them to include manuals on the last 2 versions of the M5, did we not?
MKS maybe? And on the GM side, I guess the XTS? There's also the Chrysler 300. These seem like the only domestic sedans that will work for these services, at least in the traditional sense.
Also Axl:
I could see how they'd be good for an autox, but longevity would also concern me if driven like that habitually.
The Impreza is really bad with the CVT. The Forester has more power so it's not as awful there, but I still didn't like it. Smaller 4 cyl engines with lower power output + CVT is kind of a bad recipe if you ask me. It is better in those bigger cars, like the luxury hybrids, or the Maxima with the V6 or the 2.0T in the…
Yeah fumes would be a problem for most cars.
Can you give me an example of one of the sport-tuned ones that is fun to drive? I honestly can't think of any that I would classify as such.
This is what I meant, essentially. They're dropped into commuter cars and mass-appeal sedans. They're not being used in a way that makes them "fun" because it isn't why they're using them in the first place.
