Lift status: fully installed and working!
Now I own a lift!
No picture from this afternoon where it’s fully installed because it was raining like hell all day. Here’s this morning after they got it off the truck and got the columns stood up but not yet placed.
Workshop FINALLY under construction
Day 1 complete. Day 2 will get the rest of the OSB and siding on, and the roof trusses installed and decked.

I made a thing! Now I’ll be able to move heavy stuff around the shop that’s about to be built around the crane.
My UPS driver is a ninja.
We have 3 dogs, so it’s pretty much impossible to get close to our house without getting barked at. Our UPS driver though, can deliver packages completely silently. No truck noise, no nothing. Dogs never notice. I just get a text message from the Amazon tracking and voila! Packages on the porch.
Cabela's just saved me a TON of money
By having crap customer service, they’ve lost a customer for life. I’ve spent over 2K there in 2016, but they’ve seen the last of me. I hope they enjoy the $60.

I’m building a garage/workshop, and the guys that did my slab were pretty terrible. The slab is structurally sound, but the surface finish is ass. Also, they totally ignored the drawing that showed where the in-slab electric conduit for the lift is supposed to go, so one end of it wound up OUTSIDE the building.

Some kid got a word I never heard of, and the kid asked to hear it in a sentence. The sentence was about Game of Thrones. Like any kid that’s in the national spelling bee has ever watched Game of Thrones.
The Good 5 Flavors!
For reasons unknown, the US version of Life Savers 5 Flavors was changed about 10 years ago, and they were ruined. Canada still has the GOOD 5 Flavors, so I bought a bunch of bags to take home. Strangely, Wikipedia says that all Life Savers production is done in Canada on account of cheaper sugar. Why ship the crap…

Aeron chair 1/2 fixed - awaiting parts
My trusty office chair has had a busted tilt limit mechanism for several years now. Today I decided to repair it. One part of the tilt mechanism (forward tilt) was just stuck.The rear tilt limit mechanism has a broken cam gear. Luckily, that part is only 10 bucks!
