To be clear, the two movies Zarnak mentions I recognize as being a matter of my tastes just not being simpatico. Sleeping Dogs Lie, however, is beyond the pale.

Considering everything AV Club has managed to convinve me is actually worth my time (Ninth Configuration, Gremlins 2, Sleeping Dogs Lie) has turned out to be so inept and/or drab it turned out to be the rare thing I couldn't even finish (that doesn't even do justice to how extremely bad and amateurish the latter…

My feeling is, it's Daniel Clowes without the honesty of open contempt.

Everything you said in this review
was what I said in my review of Napoleon Dynamite, right down to the only thing worth watching was the credits. That said, the trailer for this makes it look pretty good.

No, not really. It's the only Uffie I know (or, at least, didn't glaze over after previewing the first few seconds), and I think the Justice disc is a really fun record. I guess they sound like Daft Punk, but they never grabbed me, and this did (I guess Kesha fans would say the same).

I had never heard of this person until now, but isn't that song awfully familar to Uffie's Justice track (http://www.youtube.com/watc… The Kesha song made me embarrased to like this one somehow.
And yes, she looks profoundly uncomfortable/ under-rehearsed.
