That’s weird, I haven’t been anywhere (across four states) that didn’t offer stuff pretty close to what’s described here. Cookies of some sort and juice are typical. But yeah, if you’re able to donate on an empty stomach and not pass out, more power to you.

A company I worked at two jobs ago had regular blood drives and I donated there every time I could. Around here the Red Cross doesn’t seem to run most of the drives, it’s either Versiti or Vitalant or - my least favorite- LifeSource. I had to pause on LifeSource for awhile and they freaking SPAMMED me -- called 3-4-5

And for us antisocial types, I regularly do the power red donation, and they don’t require me to hang around at all after the donation, since it shoves all the plasma/platelets back in during the process. Also counts as a double donation.

Since I’m O-; they love seeing me come in, and always call about a week before my

Eating iron-rich foods is preferred before a blood donation because it assists the production of hemoglobin, which delivers oxygen to your body tissue. But even if you don’t have dark leafy greens

Maybe it’s because I go in the evening after work, but I’m lucky if there are some Cheez-Its left. They used to have Famous Amos cookies, and (my favorite) Lorna Doones, but I haven’t seen them the last few times I’ve donated. The beverage selection is lacking too; just water or crappy juice boxes.

I like bacon, but by the time you put enough on to make it the “meat” of the sandwich, it’s going to be too salty. That’s why bacon works better as an accent than a main meat.

The British version will have a few differences from the original version. Instead of starting all responses with “What is”, you just say the answer followed by “innit?” Failure to do this will result in disqualification.

His tour of the American states on Netflix was great. Things you wouldn’t expect him to focus on. For instance, you’d think Tennessee would be country music and Dollywood, but instead it’s a ‘body farm’ using cadavers for medical research.

Ken Jennings has really come into his own as host after a bumpy start. He really keeps the legacy of Trebek’s Jeopardy alive, not just because he was a part of it, but because he clearly respects it and knows it well. Mayim Bialik sucks, though, and I don’t watch it when she’s on.

I love this guy. He genuinely comes across as a legitimately nice person.

Wot is Love’s Labour’s Lost, innit?

1. You bought shitty tea

2. Bad temp, Black teas/Roobios/Pu Erh you want a full boil (210ish) to extract flavor otherwise it’s weak ass, Green/White teas you want 175-180ish anything more makes it bitter as hell.

3. Steep time, there’s some general guidelines for classes of tea (Black is 3-5, Green is 1-2) but it’s

I know I make it from time to time here in California!

Then it blames you for making it take over the refrigerator.

You can tell if it is Russian dressing by if it tries taking over the refrigerator.

Tea in this country is usually going to be drunk without cakes and sandwiches on a tiered stand because high tea was more a thing with upperclass folk with money. I’ve made high tea before because it IS a nice meal, especially with curried sausage rolls! Actually, a high tea can be anything you make it. Just get some

So...it’s reruns, but not?  And if they’re using old contestants, people who are very likely to never miss an episode of Jeopardy, with old clues, aren’t they just going to already have the answers?  Especially now that they know they’ll be reusing clues?

It would be great if Jennings also refused to cross the picket line until the WGA strike is over. Maybe Jeopardy! could bring back another former contestant to fill in as host: Watson.

On this extremely relevant note: let me be the first to welcome AV Club Bot to the team! He seems to be a modest fellow - given how comments appear to be disabled on his posts - but I have a good feeling that he will make a strong mark with his contributions of lists, bullet point-style factoids, and other lazy,

I don’t like it. I love Jeopardy! and I will happily wait for new episodes until the strike is resolved. The writers strike anyway. I’d love it if the actors’ strike kept Mayim Bialik away from Jeopardy! forever.
