I still don’t understand why lots of gamers are hell-bent on supporting steam monopoly, they aren’t even as beneficial to customers as they do some 5 years ago, and yet it seems like the community is more than happy handing them a virtual monopoly on a silver platter for Valve.

Which is why I support the idea of subscription to games like Apple and Microsoft Gamepass, at the very least I hope it can make a dent against the trend of rampant microtransaction and exploitative practice.
Well platform do need exclusivity for the pull though... Otherwise people will just stick to one service they been first and it be a virtual monopoly like what happen with Steam right now. But it does seems gamers don’t mind anyway handing a monopoly to Steam’s hands
