I think this is idealistic and nice and I agree with you to an extent. But that's easy for us to say. Foxconn employees in China who are desperate to earn the money they can get paid as cogs would probably think differently. Maslow's hierarchy and all that.

But the existence of capability is the terrifying thing. If there were government cameras in every home in the world, of course they couldn't all be monitored at once. But that wouldn't make them any less menacing, would it? The potential to be spied on can be just as threatening as actual spying itself.

To be fair to both Sam and Ashton, based on what I saw and heard, I don't think this movie is going to be that great. That said, it won't be from lack of trying. They are trying their best with the money they've been given, which isn't a lot.
