Reporting from Dublin, I can assure you that the booze restrictions are coming back.
Whether by willing agreement or nervous compliance with puritanical lobbyists in our govt., alcohol vendors (shops, off licences and pubs too) will not serve alcohol until after 4pm today.

It’s not actually much to do with the pull. Guinness is meant to be poured of a different sort of tap from most beers. Slightly different plumbing, a restricted nozzle to manage foam/head. And nitrogen for pressure rather than c02. Most US bars stop at the tap and the nozzle, pushing on c02 if they try at all.

I don’t like it here in the U.S. - they have to filter it too much to meet criteria set by the FDA. I prefer it in the U.K. Still, draught is better than bottled.

I think that the point being made here is that although Betsy DeVos is an idiot, the whole culture of hashtag activism and the idea that Trump shouldn’t get any single thing that he wants is a bit different than what Obama got during his first 20 days. Nobody remembers who Obama’s Education…

But honest question, what are we going to do about it? What are the next steps here? I feel like we are shouting into a void about federal law and ethics and its making me very tired.
