This is right up there with Dark Knight as one of my favorite comic book movies, and this final battle is one of the big reasons. I particularly like the reversal that sets it up - you think they’re going into a big battle against a bunch of other Winter Soldiers, but then the movie pulls the rug out from under you

Hard disagree. A good alternate thesis for this article would be how much it was a counter-point to Man of Steel, with its city-destroying collateral-damage-ignoring final battle. Cap specifically says something to the effect of “we need to save these people to prove we’re better than Ultron says”.

But then, I was born yesterday.

“I think it’s an egregious over-reaching interpretation of the DMCA and I’m disappointed that Twitter agreed to take my tweet down — and a similar tweet by the EFF — when they are clearly not infringing,” journalist Mathew Ingram told Gizmodo via Twitter DM.

I rewatched Avengers 1 and 2 yesterday, and even if it doesn’t quite reach the heights of 1, Ultron is still one of my favs. There are a lot of plot points that are glossed over too quickly, like the creation of Vision, and I wish we’d gotten to see a Director’s Cut that fleshed out those things better. But there are

I was hesitant to upgrade from a 7 to XS based partly on these complains about screen scratches, but I’ve had no problems in the 6 months of my XS. Just some microscratches in the coating you can see under bright, angled light with the screen off, but the same as I’d always get on previous iPhones. Maybe you just have

Bad analogy is bad.

That’s the rub - in the old 737s, pulling back on the stick automatically disengaged the MCAS, but in the MAX 8s it doesn’t. They have to manually switch it off, or else it’s fighting against them. (From what I’ve read, someone may correct me.)

Assuming both crashes are blamed on the MCAS system, it’s somewhat heartening to see American pilots seem to be hyper-aware of the issue now. If they encounter a similar scenario on takeoff, their first though will be to turn off MCAS manually.

As the lone Trek fan who still loves the Abrams-verse, my hope of hopes is the Red Angel has something to do with Red Matter and comes from the Kelvin timeline, and Spock is being driven mad by visions of Vulcan’s destruction. I mean, it’ll never happen, but if they used all this to get Disco out of the Prime universe

It’s weird how Sarek convinces Burnham to take Spock to Section 31 by being all “you have a troubled Starfleet history and risk a court martial otherwise”, and then like 5 minutes later she just goes on the run with him anyway.

Girlf and I have been watching “Windy City Rehab” and have taken to calling it “Boobs & Bevers”, because her cleavage seems to be a main character on that show, and her work-husband-whose-name-I-don’t-know looks like Bevers from Broad City.

Gotta hear both sides, I guess.

I love Age of Ultron - top 5 MCU for me. It’s overstuffed, and doesn’t have the same distinct character arcs as Avengers 1, but it’s an ambitious blast beginning-to-end. Civil War is still my favorite, and I think the Russos do both a better job of balancing complex multi-character plots, and direct better action, but

That he’s a moron. Next question.

I don’t believe for a second Disney will let there be an intermission. 3 hour movie + intermission + previews is pushing the 4 hour mark for each showing, seriously cutting down the number of showings (and money made) per day.

Aw, you think the TV and movie arms of Marvel actually have anything to do with each other at this point. That’s so cute.

Also isn’t this kind of exactly what we see in Avengers aboard the Helicarrier, when everyone’s standing in the lab around the scepter and their argument starts to really heat up seemingly because of it? It seems like this fits into that - Thanos wasn’t controlling him explicitly, but the scepter/mind stone did

In fact, this museum exhibit has been open since May. I guess CNN just picked it up, though?

It would be better if Apple would stop chasing thinness and leave room for things like bigger battery and a headphone jack. But also, like, how hard is it to just leave the dongle connected to whatever pair of headphones you’re used to using? I know there are a million use cases where it’s not that simple, but having
