I haven’t gotten around to reading Jesimin yet. I read the first Malazan book recently, and for the first 80% I didn’t understand people’s complaints, but by the very end I start to feel very disconnected from the characters so I didn’t feel the burning need to continue. I probably will at some point though.

I really enjoyed Mark Lawrence’s Broken Empire trilogy.

I would agree except for this part of the article “While none of the women I talked to have filed formal complaints with police accusing Kilstein of any criminal behavior, he is the most recent male comedian to be accused of using his celebrity status and progressive values as a shield for inappropriate or illegal

Yeah, he just seems like a garden variety jerk, but I don’t understand the description of “disturbing” allegations. I am really unclear from the first story if he pressured his employee to keep having sex with him, or if she just found it hard to break it off because she had to see him every day. It definitely seems

Man, if you are free to babysit I would love to pretend I am a barren shrew for a night or two.

I swear every other event I’ve seen her at she is dressed in GOP goth. It might be her commitment to dark lipstick.

Is Shawshank good? It’s not that I haven’t seen it, but that for about a decade it was on cable at least once a week and I can’t even see its name without wanting to run away. Like an overplayed song, I cease to be able to judge it objectively.

Well, it is not designed specifically to benefit high earners, but they either don’t understand or don’t care that in reality, lower-income households might not benefit from a tax deduction taken at the end of the year.

Just to clarify, those were quotes from the NYT story, who were quoting from intelligence officials. Just like with the release of the dossier and the repeated statements that nothing in it had been verified, I think the officials are trying to make their concerns public while retaining some appearance of neutrality.

It really just reminds me of an ex. Great guy, super smart, but sooooo exhausting. Every email or letter was 10 pages. Every conversation was about the existence of God and how he was going to save the world. To be fair, we were in college and he was bipolar so we were all exhausting, but I am just getting

Thank you PussycatisUpOnFashionHistory! That’s fascinating.

Maybe her chin?

I wish the picture was in color just so I could figure out what is going on with her top. Those mid sleeve ruffles are crazy. I know that is not important in the scheme of things...

Poor Alexa. I guess she doesn’t get to be the one holding her mom’s hand.

Huh? Did you mean “by”? Anyway, as I said, I don’t hate it. If she doesn’t want to do it that is cool, but it needs to be done so he needs to get off his ass and appoint someone else.

Because the position of First Lady is stupid anyway. I think the double standard is ridiculous, but she didn’t volunteer for this and the people didn’t elect her. Unlike her husband who clearly has no interest in doing the job but actually ran for it.

I don’t care if Melania doesn’t want to do this shit, but it is up to Trump to assign someone, like Ivanka or a family friend to do it then.

So, our democracy is Westley in this scenario? Hopefully being miraculously revived after being tortured to death.

Yeah, I guess Manu Chao doesn’t have control over the material. I watched it a lot on MTV in ‘95, and then rediscovered it on you tube a couple of years ago.

I love that video but have never been able to find a high-quality version of it.
