I would run so fast from an interview with that company. Yikes.

I’m waiting for the inevitable shutdown of this and the purging of the word ‘metaverse’ from our collective consciousness. Not enough people will ever use this to make it worth the money spent.

Unfortunately nearly every company has some objectionable practice. You just get to to choose which one isn’t bad enough to stop your purchase. I can live with Toyota. I can’t live with Tesla. At least a Toyota will work properly.

If I have the money to buy an EV it’s either going to be Polestar or some future Toyota. Screw Tesla.

I totally agree. I’ll never give a cent to Tesla because of him. I say this as a person that loves what SpaceX is doing but I give most of that credit to Gwynne Shotwell and a bunch of brilliant engineers rather than Musk. Shotwell has the talent and business ability to turn the craziness of Musk into practical

I realize that they no longer own it but I’ve been to Celebration in Florida and it’s just weird. I can’t imagine an even more compact and more strongly branded Disney version. It sounds utterly terrifying.

I totally agree but considering what it could have been I’ll take it. Health care billing in America is insane.

I’m so glad we had good insurance for our child’s birth and only had to pay about $2500 out of pocket. I can’t even imagine getting slapped with a $15000 bill right after your kid is born. There’s a reason birth rates are falling so rapidly. Between medical costs and child care not many people can afford one. Let

Yeah, I looked and I had a Canon Powershot G3 which came out in 2001. So 15-20 years is more accurate I guess. I feel old.

I don’t see this really going into their consumer camera line unless they can further up the resolution. 3.2 million pixels was good 10-15 years ago but not so much now. And there are various ways to take very good night shots with the still cameras we have now in any case.

I won’t go into detail but I had to work there on a contract for a year. Worst corporate environment I’ve ever seen. Everyone was always miserable and they treated their employees like dirt. The pay and benefits sounded horrible from what I was told. Half the people just looked like they wanted to shoot themselves and

Personal example is my family owns a 4Runner. And actually uses it frequently for its intended purpose of going off-road on fairly nasty things.

The G forces of this method would be hell on fragile electronics. I can’t imagine how you build a satellite that would function after this kind of launch. A normal rocket launch is only about 3g. This would be far higher.

Considering how much of a dumpster fire some of the later books are and how much filler there is they should easily be able to cut it way down.

It’s been done for a while and release is only a month out now. I’m guessing the release date is pretty safe at this point.

Also The God Of Lost Words (Hell’s Library Book 3) by A.J. Hackwith is out on November 2.

I was wondering the same. It’s been a while so I can’t recall if Laconia is even addressed in the slightest in book 6. They may be pulling a few things forward to at least show what’s going on there with the protomolecule.

Well it took them a couple tries to make a really good trailer but this one did it.

I used to work with carriers and “out of our control” was code for “no one made us”. In other words, yes, there were ways to combat this but they were difficult to implement and since no one required it they just looked the other way.

Now playing

While I absolutely love the arc episodes of Babylon 5 there are some truly awful filler episodes in there too. I’m not sure how I feel about a straight reboot. Some of the casting would be very hard to do better than the first time around. Andreas Katsulas was incredible.  Besides how in the world do you improve on
