A MILLION TIMES THIS. I’m not even a huge Beyonce fan (I liked her latest album, but she’s hit and miss with my music tastes). But I find it highly suspicious how (a hell of a lot of white) women are suddenly so concerned with Beyonce being comfortable with her sexuality and constantly questioning whether or not she’s

I don’t know. Chick-fil-a is already pretty normalised, and it would have been easy enough for them to find another song. Even she talked about why she didn’t allow them to use her song, how much cultural impact does Grace Slick actually have these days? This way at least the money does some good?

So that way no money would be going to Lambda?

You do what you can. You can’t do everything. CFA would just license another song, and most likely that artist wouldn’t do this. Also, keep in mind, I’m not sure she gets songwriting royalties, only performance royalties. They could’ve gotten a soundalike singer and used the song anyway. She’s doing her part.

I totally support this technique, and I think more artists should consider it. A few years ago I met a lawyer who is a total social justice warrior. I was shocked to hear that she works for [an evil corporation]. I asked her how that squares with her life outside of work and if she ever feels conflicted. She happens

I used to feel that way, but not anymore. Not since we’re seeing a backslide of progress. The power of the wallet is too important, and I’ll continue to resist any way I can.

This almost makes up for “Marconi played the mamba.” Almost.

An Evangelical couple I know has adopted a couple of Chinese kids (a boy and a girl) with disabilities whom they love dearly, yet they continue to spout support for Trump and his fellow GOP’ers. NOT ONCE have they spoken out against the cold shoulder and mockery that is now part and parcel of the Republican culture,

My grandmother once taught me the yiddish word that’s basically the Jewish equivalent of calling someone an Uncle Tom, and I’m so mad I can’t remember it because that is what I want to call Jared Kushner.

The Kushners, Tomi Lahran, Omarosa, Milo; I want to buy each of them a drink, sit them down, and tell every single one of them, “you’re not special.” When Steve Bannon plots the race war to violently rid the world of the Jewish illuminati, he isn’t thinking to himself, “except the rich, finance guy married to the

This is not surprising- Muslims do this all the time. Those church bombings/burnings in the south a few years ago? Muslims raised money to help rebuild them. When there was horrific flooding in parts of northern England a few years ago, busloads of Muslims came up from unaffected areas to fill sandbags, clear up, make

We have beaten fascists before, we will beat them again.

First they came for the Muslims, and I said -“Not today, motherfuckers.”

No surprise in seeing Julian Assange defending Milo. Neither really understands what consent is.

Uh, yeah >.>

Since IthacaNY6 dismissed my response challenging his comment calling people hypocrites, let me reproduce it in full here:

Any person of color who encounters an “I don’t see color” fool should run like the wind because that person is a fundamentally dishonest about a fundamental part of your life; is foolish or naive enough to think s/he hasn’t been impacted by media and societal background noise that forces stereotypes and white

The problem with your statement here is that the government doesn’t even run the USPS. The fact that you don’t know this is hilarious unto itself. I don’t even disagree with your sentiment but if you’re going to shout “see how government fucks everything up!?” at least save it for something the government actually

USPS does the yearly volume of UPS and FedEx combined in a matter of days. And UPS/FedEx use USPS for last mile and backbone services.

Ah, yes... the whole “never trust the government with anything” mantra...
