Seems like a pertinent question given the circumstances of the games setting. I think you are really reaching for something to write about.

Remember when C&C was the king of RTS and not just a mobile cash in? Pepperidge Farms remembers.
Jim Sterling talked about this topic a while back and I have to agree that ultimately it depends on the final quality of the game. As long as it is of sufficient quality then people won’t really care about the changes. The problem is games like Anthem is they fell far short of the mark.
No reason they can't do both. Having more game modes can only help imo.
Save the World (the PvE mode it originally launched with) has always had the loot llamas, I can tell you that as someone who has been playing since it came out. There aren’t any loot boxes in Battle Royale (PvP) store.
Can’t say that this news makes me any more optimistic about the franchise. Activision may be gone but it’s still not the same Bungie anymore, they lost a bunch of big names that made it what it was. Maybe they can still turn things around but I’m not going to hold my breath thats for sure.
RIP Blizzard, you died from a terminal case of Activision.
You had an audience of hardcore PC gamers hungry for a full fledged PC sequel...and you gave them a mobile game. Unless you immediately followed that up with a “lol JK guys” how could you possibly think that was gonna end well?
If that’s true then it just further goes to show how stupid and tone deaf they are. Though frankly I don’t think they were gonna get away with bastardizing a beloved series like that unscathed. Especially if they’re gonna pull that “don’t you have phones” crap, I mean talk about PR suicide live on stage.
Fans wanted a full sequel or even a remake of D2 to hold then over, but instead they got a shitty mobile game nobody wanted. And when asked about a PC game Blizzard’s response was “Do you not own phones?”. Oh yeah who could have guessed the fans might not take that very well. /sarcasm
Can report it happened to me as well. Switch edition arrived in the mail with no game in the box, drove to Best Buy and exchanged for a new one. No problems besides that, just a pain having to drive out to the store.
It’s simple, Ubisoft wanted even more money. More than they were getting with food sponsor deals, multiple $100+ special editions, season passes, etc. And don’t give me that “they had to do it” or “player choice” excuse. It’s never about need or choice, it’s simple greed. Because no amount will ever be enough.
Frankly I think you taking too seriously what is just a fun super hero game about swinging around and punching baddies in the face.
Seemed like they pissed off the fanbase to the point only the most hardcore even stuck around, so may as well finally cater to who’s left.
Reading the rules...how is this even Monopoly anymore? And no metal/plastic playing pieces is heresy!
Because the best way to fight sexism is with more sexism...great plan! *thumbs up*
No the messsage is don’t be an antagonistic asshole to the fans aka your customers, especially those who are being nothing but polite and respectful. Also that if you don’t want people to comment on the things you say, then dont post them on social media. (That is what social media is for, Fries...you twit)
We're all Goku now...
*yawn* Oh how the mighty have fallen. Definitly gonna pass on this same old Destiny shit....also Fuck EA.
If it were simply cross play then it would still be shitty but oh well. That you can’t even log into a third party account is what bothers me. I’m not even a big fan of Fortnites BR, but it’s still bullshit imo.
