My starting wage at an Amazon warehouse was $15/hr. Some of the shifts started around $17. I’m really interested in what this means for my facility. I live in a low cost of living area. I still can’t survive on it but it’s better than most options.

There’s not going to be a minimum wage high enough to pay 95% of the tipped workers I know, who do the work primarily for the tips. I mean, I guess you could spin that as a good thing - all those people doing the job for money can go find other jobs that better suit society or something like that, but I don’t know.

I wonder about the actual numbers will be, since everyone where I work is already making over $15/hr, yet my location was in one of the food stamp pieces. 

I’m interested in finding out what workers already making over $15 (everyone in my warehouse) are going to get, as well as the changes to the stock program.

Oh, not only are Amazon employees “associates” but “we are all owners” because they give new hires a very small restricted stock unit award. But ask them what percentage last 2 years to collect and how many are terminated close to vesting time.

It helps people with disabilities have jobs and run businesses but that’s all I can think of.
