Mance is a far more interesting and subtle character in the books than as written on the show.
Still hope. I mean, I love Ciaran Hinds and he’s done a bang-up job, but the way Mance is written, Hawkes would have been SO MUCH BETTER.
Such a fabulous, underrated actor. I was SO hoping HBO would cast him as Mance Rayder on Game of Thrones.
They usually have video clips up within 24 hours. You can frequently see better from those than you did in the theater. ;)

Yep. We live in the Cities so we go from time to time. It’s always fun. My late mother used to say “It’s just...gentle. It’s not in your face, it’s lots of talented people, and it’s a nice quiet kind of laugh.”
We got to see her earlier this year at a Prairie Home Companion show. She really is just so awesome.

Nothing like the smell of fixer. My Dad was a photography nut - before computers and other modern gadgets, cameras were his gadgets of choice - and I was developing my own film by the time I was 12. To me, it is a smell of childhood. :)

I work with clinical dietitians to stay on a pretty low-calorie diet. It is mostly fibrous carbs, lean proteins with some healthy fats thrown in. But now I find out I may be eating even LESS than I thought I was?
Well, to be fair for her, it’s more of an 80¢ on the dollar situation, so I guess she’s happy with that amount.
I was a late bloomer, so I really didn’t get inappropriate older-male attention until college. Or if I did, I was too clueless to notice. (Guys my age? Yeah, plenty. But as noted above, that seemed more organic and didn’t bother me as much, but there still wasn’t all that much.) Three incidents from college stand out:
