mostly because she’s not on social media so their opinions might as well not exist to her. (Why don’t more famous people do this??)

Uh, “staying out of each other’s sexual business” definitely ends where serial sexual assault and harassment begins.
The article linked to in Politico doesn’t say any of the 65 women signing the letter have reconsidered and had verbal confirmations from at least 4 of them that they stand by it...
Couldn’t agree more. This is feminism: giving women the latitude to fuck up their own lives, in their own ways.
Gag clauses are actually terrible. Ohio finally got rid of ours a few months ago, which means that now, when the insurance company asks for $300 for a three-month supply of a *generic* drug that costs roughly $30 for a patient paying cash*, we can now tell the patient about the disparity and offer to fill the…
What do you mean “only 2" stand by him? Your citation lists 4 who literally say they stand by him and a couple more who imply it using other words. The vast majority simply weren’t interviewed. If you’ve got a better source, then source it. Otherwise, you’re just making things up.
Only two of Kavanaugh’s 65 female acquaintances who vouched for his behavior in high school in a letter released by Republicans continue to stand by him.
So, I really really don’t want Kavanaugh to be on the Court, but that’s not what the linked article says AT ALL.
You know, I believe him when he says he is one of the finest people he knows. Have you seen the scum he hangs around? Bars not set real high.
Maybe the American people would appreciate an actual effort to lower the price of those life-saving medications instead of just giving them the right to know exactly how fucked they are..?
*gets popcorn*
Besides that, I just love the idea that Trump wants us to believe that he actually knows Kavanaugh enough to vouch for his character, and didn’t just read his phonetically-spelled name off a sheet of paper placed on his desk by the conservative gnomes that run the oval office.
It’s sorta weird that they also tend to use “Bleeding heart” in a derogatory way, like caring about others is a bad thing, when their God literally spilled his blood for everyone to blah blah blah
I find it hard to believe anyone who actually GETS what the Christ stories are about could be a conservative in these times (It’s like someone watching Star Wars and rooting for The Empire (which...fuck me, Steve Bannon did)). There’s just so much hate on the right for humans that haven’t acted against them, but just…
This is the failure of humans and especially Christians: using your faith to justify what your id and ego *want* you to do. We all want to maintain a self-image of being a good person, so when you give in to your baser instincts, you warp Christian teachings to match your self-image.
When Jesus heard this, he told them, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor—sick people do. Yessir, a doctor who will really get in there, ignore any sort of medical ethics, and help spread that sickness around.” - Mark 2:17
“Someone has to rob and beat the traveler so that he can meet the good Samaritan, and I wouldn’t want to deprive anyone of that opportunity.”
Those guidelines are always for other women. SHS is willing to give up a fulfilling life of staying home and doing what her husband wants in order to get a lot of power and recognition. She doesn’t want power, she’s just doing it for the rest of us poor saps.
“Look, someone has to do all this money-changing in the temple. I think Jesus would approve.”
Just to let you know I actually groaned at that joke. And I’m a little mad that I didn’t think of it first!
