I wasn’t really thinking in terms of the overall story. It was just my immediate reaction and it turned out to be right.

I assume they can raise the dead but not reattach heads or limbs.
The very first thing I thought when she and Jon had an exchange early on was “yeah, that woman is not surviving this episode.”
Anybody who needs an audience to propose is fucked in the head.
Right.
You said that the research method is a “totally useful method of measuring public opinion.” I don’t disagree. You then said “there was no need to fake such grandiose results.” You seem to believe that LaCour was only interested in valid results. Clearly he was interested in something else. Who knows what that was.
I find it amazing that people are willing to distill masculinity down to basic car maintenance and an ability to build a decent fire on a camping trip. It really does seem to come down to that, in the minds of many.
This is obviously the weirdest part of the whole thing. If fat and white is hideous, what’s fat and black?
Yeah, it’s totally cushy to teach 6 different classes at 4 different geographically distant colleges, and be paid $3,000 for each. Especially when you have lots and lots of student loans.
No, that’s pretty cushy. Yes, there’s still tons of pressure before you make tenure, but it’s not remotely like the situation the majority of grad students will find themselves in - endless post-docs, temporary visiting professorships, the dreaded status of “adjunct,” or a simple departure from academia.
“What gets me is that it was a totally useful method of measuring public opinion in voting counties that voted heavily in favor of prop. 8-there was no need to fake such grandiose results.”
Oh! I get it. That is pretty funny.
How can you beat the eggs 50 times and still not end up with fully beaten eggs?
Toothpicks in sandwiches are straight-up evil. It doesn’t matter the situation, it doesn’t matter the sandwich. There is never, ever, ever a legitimate reason to skewer a sandwich with a toothpick. The only situation I can imagine a reasonable person might mistakenly think it was acceptable is a big towering…
I am pitching a new series to IFC about New Jersey, loosely based on Portlandia. I do plan to incorporate “build a mall on it.”
“There are over 300,000 crashes involving heavy trucks every year.”
I see! I misread. Thanks!
“Why should I trust a system that had given my assailant another chance?”
“if infant mortality rates from the time apply, Omundsdatter had given birth much more than 12 times.”
