Yeah the alternative to that doesn’t have to be “as little as fucking possible” though lol wtf? lick that boot harder.

You’re right, it would be much easier for these gig economy tech companies to buy their fleet of taxis, maintain all the vehicles, pay for the fuel whilst drive around the city with no parking, and driving the passengers around, and then still have time to pay off their CEO millions whilst laying off their employees

There is so why are you worried that people want decent pay for their work

Not getting paid for your work is not called a job.

Oh, don’t get me wrong.. I dont think a Civil War in the U.S. is going to happen. I’d put those odds at like 1000-1.. The MAGAs are all talk for sure when it comes to that, but are also very dangerous individually, so not to be taken lightly.

It’s no secret that pretty much everything the federal US government does is out of self-interest and expanding their influence(or another country’s). What’s even more concerning is how much they work to keep the US populace in their respective bubbles as well.

I swear it feels like conservatives will not shut up until everyone is earning a penny a day in wages and loving it.

From the announcement my worry is that the film wants the spectacle of a modern American civil war without having anything of substance to say about the modern America that we live in and what could drive us to the breaking point. I worried that the film would try to side step political issues with some lazy, weak

“We are disappointed the Council chose to ignore the data and kick Uber out of the Twin Cities, putting 10,000 people out of work and leaving many stranded,”

Having taken my first Lyft ride in Vegas right before Covid shut everything down, the way the driver described his ‘terms of employment’ made it sound like borderline slavery. Horrible pay and responsibilities on the drivers, big money for corporate.  I’m sure things are worse now.  Much worse.

This movie would probably just infuriate me more than I already am with the state of this country and the nuts who believe they can win a civil war this time.

Uber CEO compensation last year: $24.3 million

“disruption” these days only means finding new ways to underpay workers.

I prefer to keep my entertainment escapist and as far away from the actual reality I live and breathe every day. I’m sure this is very good, but it’s not for me.

Almost all our underhanded attempts to overthrow or remove governments have backfired spectacularly. Sanctions haven’t worked. Our attempts to replace governments have even ended up with us supporting horrific dictators.

This is literally Uber and Lyft admitting that their business model was unprofitable without underpaying drivers.

This is a really good comparison and a nice article about one of the truly Wile E. Coyote dumbass attempts by America to take Cuba down again. Just a complete history of moronic failure.

The US has been undermining Cuba for a very long time out of fear that Cuba could demonstrate communism can work.

I can't blame him. It's hard to keep track of what's what in "Yellowstone" with all those spinoffs.

Going off the trail in Yellowstone could have turned Pierce in to James Bond broth.
