Sincerity always sounds like bullshit. Which is not to say it couldn't be but there's no way to tell.

That is not a perspective I share but I think it's valid.

I kind of am too but I don't know if I should be. All the evidence is anonymous rumors and accounts. It's just the overwhelming weight of people saying they're guilty that makes me think they're guilty and that's not a logical way to approach things.

It sure sounds like the words of someone who could be innocent but the T-Rextasy element really troubles me. You don't blow up your own reputation and a tour you're on unless there's a hell of a good reason.

I genuinely do not understand why Darrell Hammond isn't Trump already. He took over for Pardo so he's still associated with the show and I honestly think he'd be better than Baldwin (who's great but come on it's Darrell Hammond).

You know when you stop watching a show for five or six years and then you see one of the formerly-young actors post-puberty? Usually it doesn't look like the kid was just filled with a lot of helium.

Wow, this is awful. He was an incredible actor and really personified the hard work ethic of someone who doesn't turn down jobs. I have so much respect for people like that (Joan Rivers was another). He might have been the ultimate "Aren't you from…?" actor and that makes him a legend.

Yeah you goddamn Fannibals!

It's too bad you had to go tearing down one of the few women of color who's a showrunner in the industry to get there though.

I'm just really enjoying this conversation. You're kind of crackerjacks-crazy but it just stopped being irritating and started being entertaining.

I am not doubting what you're saying about colorism. I don't have any knowledge either way so I will take you at your word that all of that is true. What I disagree with is that you think not casting an Indian man as her boyfriend on her TV series is tantamount to an aversion. That, to me, is not a logical progression

I'd say Polanski and Cosby are irrefutably guilty while Singer probably is. I'd say Allen it's like 80/20 in favor of innocence. Not because I think Dylan is knowingly lying but because I think Mia Farrow is a manipulative psychopath with a healthy revenge appetite.

I agree with you in the sense that I think the truth is more important than anything in cases like this. But I think the evidence is there so I have no problem vilifying them.

The allegations have apparently been made before and a band who toured with them copped to knowing about Ben's reputation and deciding to ignore it. To me the most damning evidence comes when it is not in the interest of the evidentiary party to tell the truth and yet they do anyway.

Nope.

I think it's insane to compare those two things. Is a white person telling a joke about Asian people comparable to an Asian person telling a joke about Asian people?

I agree and if it had been a criticism of her not casting more POCs on her series than that's one thing. But saying she's self-hating is a few steps too far. There is no evidence for that beyond speculation and it's such an ugly thing to say.

I didn't think I did, since I mentioned that they (sidenote: I'm gender-neutral so I feel like it's okay for me to say I hate the "they" pronouns, because they seem so clunky) could be bi. It's just in interviews I exclusively heard them talk about men and also on their records.

I do not see how that relates to this situation. You're right, I have no knowledge about Indian culture. But I do know that it's fucking stupid and racist to judge someone's choice in romantic partner based on their skin tone. Even if this is the major problem you say it is, I don't see how it's her problem.

Only if you're judging on a CBS sitcom curve.
