total bs. winter's bone was pure genius and debra granik deserves the win not just a nomination.

@andie.walsh.is.my.hero: i don't know, watching winter's bone the other day just made me realize how few teen stories, specifically about girls, feel real and true anymore. i've grown very tired of the disney-girl frivolity which was very much absent from my experiences in high school, because it was very easy to

I read Crash, by JG Ballard when I was seventeen, after having read Fight Club and Choke, and it's been so far, the most important book in my literary history, as it broke open all of the doors of what is and isn't a story in my mind.

I work at the Living Room Theaters in downtown Portland and we have a much smaller budget for films. We got Cats and Dogs 2, My Soul to Take, and we currently have Gullivers Travels. All of these movies have crashed HARD at our theater, barely getting 15-20 people in the theater per showing in the first week. The

@Canadien Hero: He's going to be in the movie at least as a cameo. How could he not be?

@3V3RYMAN: i keep saying Ultron! pretty much just terminator/ai story. very easy and within the realm of believability given what we already know of the movie universe. wait to do skrulls later on. it'll work, believe me.

none of my favorite shows LAST ANYMORE! STUPID CSI YOU RUINED EVERYYYYTHING!

This really bums me out, because I've always felt that this show was going to get better with time, and potentially surprise us with where it's stories were going. I also feel that I will never get to my answer to where I think Rush's obsession with the destiny was going.

Star Trek. Watched it with my dad when I was 1 during the first season - season 7 when my dad had abandoned it and I watched every sunday night. I watched Empire when I was about 3-4 and loved it, but because there was less "star wars" in general, it was easier to get into Star Trek because there were just more

@raysfamous: haha! i thought the exact same thing when i saw it.

Oh man these dudes make me LOL so hard. WE WANT OUR MILLENIA of Western Patriarchy back! SRSLY Grrrls no fair!

@BringerofthePain: Again, that says very little about her character, other than "NOT Spider-Man, female, PoC, and not sexualized." this just sounds like that Female Character flow-chart from a few weeks ago.

@Sock.Hop: HAHAHa. Wow. I'm sure exactly the same conversation happened nationwide the monday afternoon after that album came out, as that morning the kid had foolishly popped that in the car cd/tape player. (I had a tape version of that album so I know it actually happened.)

Do your children listen to the Beatles? Cuz, I am the Walrus, Strawberry Fields Forever, Glass Onion, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, WHY DON'T WE DO IT IN THE ROAD?

Is it just me or did this say absolutely nothing about who this woman is? I'm not looking for a blurb, but HOW is she different other than just NOT having spider-powers?

@WookieLifeDay: Terry O'Quinn has actually played 3 characters in the X-Files. One in the "X-Files: Fight the Future", one guest star in the episode "Aubrey" and one random cameo.
