“Why are you treating this as exceptional when it should be normal, expected behavior?”

Originally, it was for Italian Americans to tell the rest of the US at the time that they were just as entitled to be here, thankyouverymuch. That purpose has probably been served and surpassed at this point...
A prevarication followed by cognitive dissonance. The “legalization” was more of a clarification (narrowing of definition along the lines of “textualism” or “originalism”), done under the Bush years.

The point of Mueller’s investigation is to provide additional cover and basis for an impeachment. It isn’t, strictly speaking, necessary for an impeachment. Starting that process is not Mueller’s responsibility, it’s on Congress.
I have been told, on numerous occasions, to never consider anything after “but.”
You may have pissed away your chances at a warm reception at their house...
I mean, that’s “rational” inasmuch as the Republican members don’t want to alienate a sizable chunk of their base by looking like they’re going against that chunk’s single issue. Gotta find us some of those politicians what like that ex-Aussie vice PM what pushed for gov’t buy-back-or-pay-to-license firearms, and got…
People generally aren’t aware of when they’re not being rational, until someone points it out clearly and unequivocally.
Sure.
They do care, they care about the single-issue voters the NRA nurtures, breeds, and brings out to vote. The money is a nice cap on the guaranteed base to pander to to get everything else done.
Disappointing to have this from an early Clinton appointee, registered Independent.
Same, though I can’t find the transcript or audio at the moment. It was the head of the Nevada NRA being interviewed that said we should discuss the data, not argue from emotion.
Cool, cool. How about when ICE detains actual citizens born in the US for years, because they won’t actually check their ID?
There are likely potential loopholes to watch out for, in which the increased pay is entirely to yourself and your inner circle. Otherwise, seems at least a decent thread to pull on.
Is this a nerd fight? Can linguists join in? Would it be literally terminal?
Combining two latter posts to tl;dr - no, but he can be removed by Congress:
It shouldn’t be a hard fight. But it’s still one that one needs to show up to to win.
No, no it isn’t. In fact, the scam is the legislation that prevents the IRS from providing equivalent service to H&R Block and Intuit.
