We are living in a crazy time. In Normal World, this would be shocking and a complete deal-breaker for this bill on its face ... but we are not in Normal World anymore. We are in Trump’s Sur-Reality TV World and it’s like an episode of the Twilight Zone.

It’s a puzzlement to me, because here in Maine, the oldest state in the country demographically, even Republican Susan Collins knows damned well that virtually every hospital north of Portland would close if we lose Medicare/Medicaid. Of course, let me not count my chickens before they vote No ...

Okay, so the only people supporting this disaster of a bill are the 48-52 idiots in the Senate, Orange Julius, the Koch Zeroes, and everyone’s racist uncle who thinks the ACA’s sole purpose is to give illegals free healthcare. Got it.

God, the utter contempt they have for their voters is astounding. They think they can totally fuck everyone over and still get voted into office as long as they have money to make people hate/fear liberals, nonwhites, terror, drugs, etc ... and it keeps working.

Because let’s not forget not just that this bill is terrible and would gut American healthcare, and Republican governors (like Sandoval in NV) are telling their Republican Senators they are NOT taking on this burden of trying to do healthcare with less money and essentially pit their constituents one against another

I just don’t see how Caputo votes for it, especially in light of this.

Ah, the fresh breeze that is politics in Alabama... straight off the pig farm’s effluent ponds. I believe David Byrne said it best: “Same as it ever was.” No, he wasn’t speaking about bigotry and hated in Alabama specifically, but does that really matter?

Hey Roy. That horse you’re on? Get fucked by it.

Alabama is an absolute shithole. I’m trying to help get Doug Jones elected, but it’s an extreme long shot. The fuckstains who live here deserve the morons they have representing them, but the decent people certainly do not. Working against us is the fact that once a court ordered the state to offer free voter IDs at

You don’t choose to be in the situation, it choo choo chooses you.

You just derailed my train of thought. Thank you so much.

At least she got her caboose in gear.

Well this discussion derailed quickly

No one ever trains for these situations.

Nothing like just saying things instead of making an actual argument. WHY do you believe piracy to be wrong? What moral precepts support this assertion? At least pirates who “rationalize” their actions are making an argument - the moralizing side you belong to consistently refuses to back up their vague “feeling” that

And why can’t I download a car yet?! They’ve been teasing me for so long!

Corporations control what politicians do during a campaign, while they are in office, and after they leave office. They decide who is elligible to be elected and decide what is allowed to be voted on. Thinking otherwise is willfully ignorant at this point.

“These things are not equivalent. Piracy can still be a major problem, even in the absence of a measurable impact on the sales of media. For example, the entirely false perception of rampant piracy can have adverse effects on the likelihood of individuals to offer works to the marketplace in the first instance.”

On each DVD I own!

But the RIAA and MPAA have assured me that every year they lose $100 trillion in profits due to piracy!
