Interesting. I bought it 7-8 months ago and played it sporadically for a few weeks, but I just couldn’t get into it. I’ve had the experience you describe with a few other games (Bloodborne being the biggest one), so maybe I should give RDR2 another shot and see if it will suddenly click and be an all-time favorite.

I just beat Sekiro for the fifth time. I’d already beaten Bloodborne but that was my first foray into From Software games, so I’m finally throwing myself into Dark Souls this weekend. Starting with the Remastered original. Any tips on what strategies to use in a melee fighting style would be greatly appreciated- I

Nope, I’m with you. He’s a character where all the elements to love him are there, but the actual execution in the three movies means he’s pretty “meh, whatever” in my mind. There was nothing that actually endeared him to me as a character, probably because so many of his scenes in the 3 movies feel like they’re there

Agree to disagree. I found Driver to be, by far, the best thing about the Sequel Trilogy.

Wraightfighter seems to have a limited imagination. I’m with you- there are all sorts of interesting stories that could be told about Obi-Wan between Ep. 3 and 4 that don’t have to have galactic consequences yet could still make for great television. Take a show like quantum leap- lots of great one off episodes can be

Have you seen the movie sequels? Don’t be a dick, it doesn’t take a genius to see how bad she’s doing all the Star Wars stuff.”

Agreed. That’s why Marvel has worked so well. Release one movie every 2.5 years or so, and MAYBE do a single TV show so that people don’t get fed up with the content.

I’m always amazed when I see people claim that those are the ONLY two options. As if a creative writer couldn’t have thought of ANYTHING else he could have been doing. It’s literally an unbounded leaping off point that could have allowed them to come up with any number of explanations as to why he was there, but no,

Literally the only information we’re given is that they were horrified of Palpatine and sacrificed their lives to protect their daughter. Sure, we don’t know for sure, but we also don’t know for sure that Luke wasn’t killing babies before ANH, or that he didn’t massacre entire planets between Ep. VI and VII- none of

That’s such a hastily glossed over part of the movie and I hate it. You establish that her parents (the people that in the first two movies she was somewhat obsessed and fixated on) sacrificed literally everything for her, but after Rey finds that out they’re completely ignored and forgotten for the rest of the movie.

How is she forging a new path? She’s just doing exactly what others before her have done. She defeats the Emperor by literally laying claim to the past and adopting everything that came before. Just because the last shot is of her walking forwards doesn’t mean she’s actually forging ahead thematically. She’s not doing

I’m not really sure that’s actually the point. They do it so the real life humans that play the parts can have fun. I don’t think John Williams was playing that part in the hopes that audiences would be blown away by his performance- I think JJ just asked him if he wanted to do it and he thought “sure, that sounds

Probably why it was such a bad one. It’s also a really awful (and I mean truly terrible) apple pie recipe.

He’s the same species as Tony Shaloub’s character in MIB, so his head just keeps growing back. We wouldn’t want our movie to have actual stakes, would we?!?!

Holy typos and bad grammar Batman! This whole post needs a lot of work. Good list of movies, but reading it was a bit rough at times.

It’s brutal. I hate this movie solely for how bad that song in the trailer is.

I am constantly surprised that some studio hasn’t taken a little bit of a gamble on a movie they’re pretty confident in and released it in January. The landscape is utterly barren, so you’d think that a movie that’s actually pretty good with broad appeal would do really well in that space, especially for something

God yes. The musical choice was absolutely baffling to me. When I first saw it I was utterly confused by the overly dramatic, EPIC scale they were trying to impart onto the film. It’s a movie about a guy that talks to animals- relax with the melodramatic flair.

Okay ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
