You mean your mother never tied a string around a doorknob, the other end around your loose tooth, and slammed the door?

All of you are somewhat right. With chain and lock style bike locks (ala the Kryptonite New York Fahgettaboudit) are the safest and heaviest locks you can get. But they use specially tempered steel chains with extra thick links and locks that are tamper resistant. The lock has almost no access to the part that loops

Damn my inability to edit comments.

As someone who owns a Nook, books. You can't replace the physical navigation (knowing where you on in the book due to how thick the book is on either page as well as knowing where on the page [bottom third, right hand page]). That and underlining and notetaking is literally effortless in a book. Finally, one Nook

I wonder how fast it will be until 4chan finds this and overloads it.

Heh. Why not just use old chinese boxes?

Is it lactose free? Is so, sign me up! Dollars to doughnuts it tastes better than most of the vegan cheeses out there.

When I came into school, I bought a used T4220 specifically for this purpose. And I love it.

@Tsylord: Try buying fabric and holding it up with lots and lots of pushpins. If you have a bulletin board. Last year I went with a very basic natural muslin because I was going to screenprint on it. I never got around to it, but it definately added something to the room. A fun floral print or a bright something

I only maybe NEED 25-50GB... but I definately want my full music collection with me at all times. I don't feel like plugging in my external every time I want to listen to music. I also keep all my movies on my external.

I've been doing this for two years, as well! I personally assign one calendar for each class that I am in. I then take my syllabus and type in all my reading and homework assignments as "all day" events on the day they're due. I also have one calendar for My Life (fairly nonexistent outside of schoolwork), one with

@AkkiRonin: It was the brick and mortar comparison that made up my mind for me in the Nook vs Kindle 2 debate. I was able to touch and feel the Kindle 2 at Target (but not use), and compare it to the Nook and the Nook won. Of course, I don't know about the Kindle 3 (2.5?), but the Nook was smaller, more substantial

@lindsayk: I'd pick up a pair of JVC flats. I know they're made by JVC and not some fancy sound company, but they sound decent. They're small, on the ears, and functional. I think they sound fantastic. Deep bass (but not too much), decent mids and highs. Fairly tough. You may need to stretch the headband out on

handwritten on my tablet. I love being able to write by hand and also being able to search them. If my tablet was about a pound or two lighter and a bit thinner, I'd be in heaven.

@Bryant Burkhart: It also should have one of those Pixel Qi hybrid LCD/e-ink screens. That in and of itself would cause me to consider a purchase.

As the proud owner of a Fujitsu T4220, I am well acquinted with and love using it as a tablet. Unfortunately, it doesn't have touch, just Wacom capabilities. My dream device would be a convertible tablet under an inch thick with both pen and touch capabilities. I want a processor fast enough to eliminate lag

I tend to hop on [Last.fm] and turn on the Miles Davis channel. Nothing like be-bop to kick on my brain.

If you have a tablet, get Inksciene. It's basically like Pen and paper, but with interesting gesture abilities and amazing linking features. Highly recommended.
