Yeah, in The Return of Jafar he says his powers aren’t what they were, which suggests freedom comes at the cost of being able to do practically whatever you want. Something to do with being connected to the lamp, maybe?

From what I recall as a kid, the Genie’s powers became weaksauce and hard to control after he was freed from the lamp. Their only use seemed to be as entertainment. At least, that is the way the cartoon series portrayed it.

Marvel is criticized (Sometimes correctly) for relying too heavily on a formula that works. DC is lambasted because they can’t find a formula that works. Which is worse? I know Dr Strange (and Spider-man, and GOTG) are going to be competent fun movies with safe choices but great moments. I have no earthly idea what to

He’ll say,

“Heigh Ho,” the only song anyone really remembers from the original Snow White.

Will this be a seasonal post? ............

Why would Rey just stop caring about her parents, when she spent a majority of the film extremely concerned about them?

My guess:

At least in the main line SW movies, they have said that they will (for the foreseeable future) focus on the Skywalker bloodline.

True, but I’d hardly say the internet was “crippled”. And isn’t “crippled” an offensive term these days?

I only knew there was a problem because I saw the article on Gizmodo. Internet worked fine for me all day too! And I’m in NYC, which was suppposedly more heavily affected.

Yeah, but “The Attack That Mildly Inconvenienced America’s Internet” just doesn’t have the same ring to it.

On Friday, I bought stuff from Amazon and got paid on Paypal. Didn’t notice a thing.

Nuisance attacks like this are a blessing. Enough of them will force the industry to rethink security, which has been a long time coming, before something far worse happens. Otherwise, no one will commit the funds.

For such a huge, scary attack, it’s pretty incredible how easy it was to go on about my day (on the internet) normally and really not even notice.

The part of this attack (which is missed in the article) that was staggering was the bandwidth leveraged (reportedly 600-800 GBps, one party claiming responsibility bragged they have the ability to do 1 TBps+). Now that botnets are relatively cheap to rent, crippling DDoS attacks like this are really not that hard to

Exactly. Even Coulson being back wouldn’t need much explaining in superhero movies. Just show the characters being surprised. And if people are curious... they’ll watch Agents of SHIELD. Which i imagine Marvel would want?

I think the crossover problem is more on the TV side than the movie side.

And it isn’t like D’Onofrio isn’t a capable actor. He has been on the big screen, he could handle it. It would be a wonderful chance to make something huge happen - a TV-movie crossover that I honestly don’t know if I have seen before (or I am too tired at work to think of anything worthwhile right now).

That, and the fact that Wilson Fisk ties all three together. I think Fisk would work as a Big Screen villian, just as well as he did on Netflix. His character has already been developed.
