Love Batman Returns. On one of his podcasts, Kevin Smith said his favorite moment was when a penguin with a rocket launcher almost blows up the Batwing. Batman give a little head shake and a grimace as if to say “Did I almost get killed by a fucking penguin?”

Dawes meme too unwoke for new AVClub
I can’t believe we’re four comments in for an article that mentions Laurel Canyon and nobody has asked if it sounds like Dawes. And I imagine it does.
Paul said his counter-melody playing was inspired by the bass lines Brian Wilson wrote for Pet Sounds, but yeah, Paul really took it and ran with it.
That’s just so unexpected and amusing to me because his tone is practically my favorite thing about his playing! But the tone, itself, is a rather limiting one, imho. I never really minded his tone, but in his solo stuff, the bass is really high in the mix. Can’t unhear it after it was pointed out to me.
Oh yeah, YOU’RE farty, you farty fart!
After a lifetime of loving Chris Elliott’s singularly odd comedy style...
Better not let Joe Ramone hear that.
Ha! Don’t sweat it...he “checked out” 10 years ago.
No biggie. Mitch still thinks YOU’RE OK, Brent:
Dave, I can’t tell any difference between them.
Now he bites the heads off of Metamucil bottles.
Funniest man in the world
I’d take Buddy Rich because Ad-Rock is him when he flies off the handle.
Name checks out...
Yeah, Hofner is shit. He switched to the Ric (also my bass of choice) from Rubber Soul on, although iirc he would pull the Hofner out occasionally (used it on Something, I think?) Anyway, agree to disagree re: tone, I suppose. All good, all subjective. Someone like Flea’s tone makes me want to rip my ears off so who’s…
