Pfft. You don’t remember that original Star Trek episode?
“Amazon is also selling a more high-end 13-inch MacBook Pro (with Touch Bar and Touch ID) at a reduced price of $1,799.”
Ridiculous. The ending actually indicates that Rose never survived the sinking in the first place. The entire framing story with Bill Paxton is just a Jacob’s Ladder scenario.

1) I don’t disagree that a quantum computer can theoretically model the universe at the level of atoms and beyond. But this is not evidence that we live in a simulation. If we do live in a simulation then all our data tells us nothing about the world in which that simulation runs. Mario would be mistaken if he…
1) That’s nice, but in no way undermines my point. You are supposing that in our potentially simulated world a quantum computer that does not now exist could in theory simulate the entire simulated universe. This is neither data nor an argument upon which to base the conclusion that our world is a computer simulation.

“First: If there is a capability to create a simulation, what is the probability that we are not in one?”
“Tell me what’s wrong with that argument. Is there a flaw in that argument?”
Some enterprising pharmaceutical company needs to isolate the key ingredient in this Twitter account and market it as a cure for erections.
I for one am shocked. Nothing in science fiction prepared me for the possibility that such technologies would be attached to dystopian surveillance and corporate control that exploits individuals.
