There are many “authors” on Amazon who publish crap or have “click-bait” type books so it makes sense that they wouldn’t want to pay fully for books that end up not adding much value to their library.

Not sure how online radio payment works but it could be apple to apples if an online radio company doesn’t pay full royalties for a song that was skipped in the middle. Just like a book sometimes you listen to the first minute of the song before you realize you aren’t enjoying it.

If you write garbage though, you will get less readers for the next book. (Well...not in the case of 50 shades of grey) I don’t think most authors will sacrifice their book for a few more pennies.
