You didn’t even mention how Ben Roethlisberger is the real problem here.
You didn’t even mention how Ben Roethlisberger is the real problem here.
Not sure that’s entirely accurate either. From what I’ve seen the league gave everyone a list of acceptable AND unacceptable helmets and gave everyone a 1 year grace period to adopt one of these helmets. Not every manufactured helmet was tested in the proposed list, and it appears that the NFL was willing to test any…
“We’ve got 89 guys busting their tails.”
AB received a one year grace period last year for his now 12 year old helmet. This is not a race issue. This is a stupidity issue.
last year was the grace year for all players. coverage on this issue has been extremely clear (if not here, then elsewhere)
Antonio Brown is a stupid little boy throwing a shit fit because he doesn’t want to eat his peas.
Brown cannot wait to catch passes from Landry Jones again.
Pretty sure Gruden is eventually going to go plaid.
According to this previous Deadspin post, Brown’s helmet is now 12 years old. It would have been 11 years old last year which means he may have gotten the same one year grace period. He just didn’t use it to find a new helmet that he could accept. The reporting has been unclear on this point.
Brown’s frustrated with the league, and for good reason: The NFL hadn’t banned or even tested his preferred model until he made an issue of it this summer, meaning that every other NFL player with a helmet older than a decade, including Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady, had one-year grace periodsto [sic] find new models…
AB had the grace period last season like everyone else. Brady’s on record about not liking the new helmet too:
“Find a partner you love as much as Antonio Brown loves that helmet.”
Pretty sure asphyxiating on your own drool due to decimated motor function isn’t dying “with dignity.”
On the flip side, Vince McMahon is probably salivating over the idea of having Antonio Brown in the XFL.
It aint about brains son, its about HEART
He got the same grace period.
He got a grace period, the article is wrong. Last year was his grace period, just like Rodgers and Brady.
I believe the logical conclusion is that AB retires to become a helmet designer, and uses Lavar Ball’s manufacturing connections to go to market.
+1 Organ Sack
Tired of all these primadonnas complaining about not getting to play with what they want. Well boohoo snowflake, there are millions of people who would gladly take your place and play for nothing. What happened to being a MAN and playing football in nothing but a leather shell? That’s real FOOTBALL. You go out there…
Inject this straight into my veins. I need this saga to be drawn out as long as possible, bringing the Raiders, AB, and everyone else past their breaking points. I need panicked public statements, I need social media meltdowns, and I need Jon Gruden turning shades of red that even Deadpsin couldn’t photoshop. I love…
