I’d say that the Villeneuve Dune is definitely “superior” in terms of being faithful to the novel, more “grounded,” more of a science fiction story about a young man caught up in a fake Hero’s Journey than a space fantasy about a true Messiah with magic rain powers. But my heart will always belong to the Lynch movie,…
I can see how it’s difficult for you to understand what I’m saying. You say I’m incensed (I’m not), you say I’m calling for a boycott (where?), and you don’t seem to understand the star system on this platform where numerous people have clicked on my comments to “agree” while almost no one has clicked on any of yours.
Wait, the ‘Put the pick in there, Pete’ guy is meant to be Scytale? That is a huge deal! I thought Lynch just wanted to give every single profession a litany of their own. Like the Mentats with their ‘through will alone I set my mind in motion’. I assume the Guild Navigator with a mop in the intro was muttering his…
Dang, you really feel like you need a win here, huh?
I know plenty of Gen Xers. Most of them are pretty cool, but a vocal minority seems to be curdling into goal-post shifting narcissists in their old age.
I don’t believe Lauren Boebert. No one with sense does.
What do you mean it wasn’t a good joke? I thought it was perfectly snarky and actually pretty fucking accurate compared to all the other terrible jokes. In fact, if Tina Fey made the joke, I don’t think people would have considered it bad at all.
Honestly, god help anyone who says ANYTHING about her if we’re referring to that Jo Koy joke as “cringe-worthy.” It was not a good joke. It was barely a joke. But my goodness, is it being blown so absurdly out of proportion. “Taylor Swift is dating an NFL star and gets shown on TV a bunch.” Oh, what a diss to Tay-Tay.…
I’m 43 years old. This is the perspective of a grown up. “WHO CARES LOL” is not.
Not really any specific episodes/timestamps/moments off the top of my head, but if you look in the wider shots, you could often spot the transition — the perspective on the screens would have a slightly flat feel compared to the physical set in front of it.
We’re Out of Ideas - A Star Wars Story
“The Mandalorian & Grogu” is too creative a title. Should have just gone with “The Only Characters We Have Confidence In - A Star Wars Story”
The Mandalorian & Grogu is a horrible title.
More Mando content? Yay! Making a movie that people have to watch 3.5 seasons of a tv show to enjoy? Meh. That is not the greatest move.
One hopes they rethink that title. Regardless, I think it’s probably a good idea to leave the Skywalker/Palpatine clans on the shelf for a bit longer.
If you care about whether artists are fairly compensated for their work — or if there will be any work for them to do at all — this should concern you. If you care about the health and wellbeing of the brand — the future of Magic cards, WOTC, D&D, whatever — this should concern you. If you care about businesses…
You seem to be zeroing in on the lying, so I’ll address that in lieu of the AI art aspects.
I’m not sure you’re being serious. Yes, a lot of things occur daily that people don’t like, that doesn’t mean no one should complain or attempt to stop them.
Why does what matter? (1) WOTC using AI art or (2) WOTC lying?
