Most insurances (I have yet to have one that does) will not cover non chemical abortions unless it's deemed a medical necessity. I want to know what insurance carrier you have, cause Ive been on blue cross, aetna, keiser, to name a few...

I had excellent insurance at the time. My abortion was free. (shhhhh....)

Also, Marnie's apt. is super small and shitty. I don't think they made Mimi-Rose's apt. so beautiful just for fun. I think they wanted to show that she has money (maybe inherited?)

okay, I'm embarrassed that I know this, but the Friends apartment was leased to Monica's great-aunt or something, yonks ago, and they still paid her tiny rent-stabilized rent. there were one or two episodes where they'd say, "if anyone asks, we're 87 years old and named Gladys" or somesuch.

Fucking hell, this is the only time I would ever watch anything done by Michael Bay!!

Fucking hell, this is the first time I've ever actively wanted to watch something Michael Bay has done!!!!

Sure, because "misogynists" are all monsters, and not in any complex or sympathetic.

Well, the show was named after her column.

For some reason I am reminded of the Andy Warhol film...I think it is called "Kitchen," starring Edie Sedgwick-

My abortion in 1994 was not in any way an epic decision. If I had decided to carry my pregnancy to term, that would have been an epic decision with far reaching consequences, including, most likely, dropping out of college and reducing my lifetime earning potential, and thus my ability to provide for said baby.

I don't actually see misogyny as being one of Adam's prominent character traits (and I've seen every episode of the show), and I'm curious about how you came to that conclusion. A bit scary and a shitty lay, yes, but he seems to fundamentally see the women around him as people, and not as walking vaginas. I don't read

Aaaand, what was that really annoying one— "Friends"? Didn't they all work in, like, coffee shops? And then went home to a loft the size of Rhode Island?

Yeah it was rent controlled, but Greenwich Village in 90s was nowhere near the lawless wreck that is Detroit right now, and I don't think it was ever perceived that way either.

Agreed - and wasn't there an episode where it was revealed that her rent was like $700/month? I feel like it came up in the early Carrie-needs-to-start-budgeting episode.

The whole point of the article was to compare and contrast the way that the abortion was depicted in the show with how an abortion might go down in the article.

Oh man. That sounds rough. :(

Pretend abortion costs in the POST - real abortion costs in the article. Once again - this is a television show so any correlation to reality is moot.

If you read the article, why are you asking what her pretend abortion pretend cost has to do with the article?

Knowing how much a hypothetical procedure would cost makes someone cavalier about said procedure? I know how much open heart surgery would cost under my plan, but I still know it's a big fucking deal.

What? I'm 27 and I didn't realize that insurance sometimes covers abortions? I feel like an idiot.
