I am wanting to upgrade my desktop after years of use. It's old and I don't have much money to buy a laptop replacement or complete new system. Looking for a good cheap CPU and mobo. Currently have a AMD athlon 64 X2 6400+. I want to go to Intel, what is a better equivalent?

I've got about 2k in DLSR gear and am wondering if the savings outweigh functionality by switching to a micro 4/3 system or even the Sony mirrorless. I shoot for art and natural light portrait work every now and then.

The darkest part of the checkerboard's levels measures the same by the camera as the lightest part. The lighting is used to control the levels of gray to make sure the camera sees each square the same. It's real life but we still see it in 2d on video anyway. Cool illusion.
