I think that’s an excuse, and a poor one. Some of the best, sexiest design choices of any era of car design were brought about because of trying to make production compromises and safety regulations look good.

Really? $200 for a handmade object like this is too much? How much is his time worth to you? Think about it. If it takes 5 hours to make (which would be insanely fast to make all the cuts, build the armature, install the wiring, assemble and finish everything, package and ship it to you) his time cost only $40/hr.…
