I’m still trying to figure out what Daimler got out of that deal.
I’m still trying to figure out what Daimler got out of that deal.
Well, I have ridden cross country, and I’ve ridden just a few miles, and everything in between. There are many ways to enjoy motorcycle riding. Being stranded by the side of the road out of gas (or electricity) is not one of them. I ran out of gas just once, and I was able to coast into a gas station. I have helped…
Normal driving? Not really. Hell I never take my Diavel out of touring mode and rarely bother to downshift to overtake.
Point being that buying another company’s tech is NOT innovating.
I think you’re really taking these comments the wrong way, reading into them things that aren’t there. No-one is asking you to convince them personally that they need this bike. People are asking legitimate questions about the bike and its place in the world (in the context of an article written specifically to elicit…
You do realize that the Diavel has been replaced since then... just this year, with the new engine from the XDiavel and Multistrada 1260 bikes....
Did Harley innovate, or did they just raid Alta Motors under the guise of investment and partnership, before they ditched and left Alta for dead just before the Livewire came to market.
As a non-motorcyclist, you don’t want this.
What do I want to know about the new Harley? Not a damn thing. Years ago, Harley decided that they were NOT going to innovate, but rather to go after the 55-75 year old rich male “biker wannabe” demographic. That demographic is disappearing, and so will Harley Davidson. Let’s give Harley once last cheer before they…
Don’t blame me for that argument, blame a new technology without an existing refueling infrastructure and a society still trying to figure out where that fits. Or better yet, blame the brand that cruised for generations on an identity around old fashioned road bikes finally waking up to the idea that they need to…
It matches a standard Diavel from 6 years ago for its 0-60. It is “ridiculously quick” for a harley. It’s about on par for a power cruiser and slow for a sport bike.
Right. I’m interested to learn what you experience as the *real world* range. Do you exceed 88 miles? Do you fall short? How much does driving style affect cruising range? Etc.
I want to know how it compares against the Energica Eva and Zero SR/F.
If it’s important, they’ll leave a message or a text.
And if they don’t leave a message and I don’t recognize the number? BLOCK CALLER.
Clearly you’re not getting the spam calls that come from numbers that not only are local, but that start with your first six digits.
I bought a brand new Harley last year, my first new bike ever, after I realized how bad I got ripped off I went on a social media rampage telling everyone I could to never buy a new Harley, especially since the after market bikes are readily available.. my new Iron 883 was 8,500 after they convinced me to add parts,…
While I (a conservative) agree that the trade war is “insanely stupid”, you should leave politics out of your articles. Jalopnik is a car news website, not a CNN op-ed. Stick to car journalism. If you want to explain how the tarrifs are hurting Harley, say “the terriffs are hurting Harley”, not “Trump’s insanely…
Harley and their riders are just sad. They will not be missed. Every time I hear stupid loud pipes I think at least they are a dying breed.
Maybe because nobody want’s to be associated with their shitty customer base of blasting loud pipes at 2am setting off car alarms.
