Eeeeh... ballet costumes typically don’t conform to the standards of modesy in place for hijab-wearing muslims. The reality is that hijabis don’t learn ballet.

I don’t have children and I am not a toy collector. My last frame of reference for Barbie was when I was a kid, and as I recall, when I was a kid the black dolls looked exactly like the white dolls. So this is new and exciting to me. The blue hair on that one doll is also a nice touch.

They look really great, though. I appreciate that they changed the faces instead of just using a different colour of plastic.
