Obviously, yes. Fashion Santa is bangin’. No question.

Mostly Nicki Minaj, Lorde, La Roux, Metric, Matthew Good Band, with appearances from Macklemore and Ariana Grande. I refuse to be ashamed, because it isn’t surprising. That’s just what I listen to, whatever.

I understand where your coming from, and honestly after thinking about it for about ten minutes I wasn’t even bothered by the nannies’ pay coming from the household staff budget. That said, there is a big difference between the pay he recieves as PM and the perks he recieves above and beyond that pay.

I recently donated a bunch of my bras. I never wear bras, but I often end up buying them for cosplay purposes and only ever wearing them once or twice a year so that my boobs look appropriately boobtastic in whatever superhero leotard I’ve chosen to wear.

This is very complicated. I make mine in a slow cooker.

2006, 2013, and 2014 were nice. 2000 and 2011 weren’t terrible.

I am very much about those colours. Yes.

That’s one way of interpreting it, and I am sure there are shitheads out there hoping that every tragedy is going to fit their narative and further their cause. But for a lot of us, the initial reaction of “I hope the shooter/bomber/knife wielding maniac wasn’t brown” is simply because we know that when it comes to

Lol, ‘blaming the shooters’? Who else is anyone blaming?

Please, tell me what ‘mourning the dead’ at length does to end this type of violence. For how many days are we supposed to fill the comments sections of news articles ‘sending thoughts’ and ‘praying’ for victims and their families? This happens (apparently literally) every day in the US, and obviously y’all need some

I’m not hearing crickets; it seems to me everyone is still talking about it.

Yeah, I’ve been living pretty comfortably in Toronto on $13.50/hr for several years now as an assistant buyer, and I don’t get room and board with my job.

Yes. Realisically, the law should be protecting anyone who is legally working in Canada. Minimum wage exists, and should be enforced. I assume the issue is either room and board being taken from pay or nannies not being paid for all of the hours they actually work.

I honestly have no idea, I was just interpreting what the article said. I just read another article (CBC) that referenced shifts, so I may be way off.

I honestly don’t see any other way of reading the story. I will happily eat my hat if I am wrong.

Yes, this whole story is so ridiculous. Feel free to speak out about the financial perks of being Prime Minister, but don’t pretend that anything unusual (Harper and every other PM also had household staff) or exploitative is happening.

The nannies’ wages are simply coming out of the budget for household staff. Some PMs might choose to have cooks, or housekeepers, or chefs; the Trudeaus have chosen nannies. There is nothing unusual happening here, and this is a total non-story.

The nannies work in Ontario, where the minimum wage is 11.25. I am not sure where the minimum wage cited in this article comes from.

Oh, bullshit. This is a class issue, not a race issue. Loads of my brown and asian friends from families with extra money have parents who give loads of ‘informal’ help in the form of monetary gifts, paying for weddings, having them live at home rent free (even after getting married and having children), free
