For people who speak both languages, subtitles can sometimes throw you off. I remember a few spots in Les Revenants (I saw it on Canuck Netflix some time ago), it would be something like the subtitle would read "She believes he did it" but the person would say, in French, "She is completely convinced he did it." For a brief moment, I thought you were saying Gracepoint had Tenant's character in his underwear watching daytime TV and thought 'well, at least THAT's different.'

Charlie Jane Anders you must STOP this behavior immediately. Every year I pretty much get my ebook list whittled down to something ... manageable and you do something like this. You are seriously out of control. ;)

When he appeared on Aisha Tyler's "Girl on Guy" podcast, he said after the first season he had to have a chat with the production team: each shirtless section of a script had to be prefixed with a strong, serious, eating and workout routine and there was simply no time to get it all in. I think he said, ok, let's

You think Dulaque is Mordred? Maybe is was just too obvious to be accurate but Sir Lancelot's "full name" is Sir Lancelot du Lac. I'd assumed he was Lancelot but L was always portrayed as a goodie-goodie at best (and a dupe at worst) so that didn't fit well.

What sorcery is THIS!

I'll get cleaned up for the party.

Either way works - he was just that awesome.

OMG A year later I got pulled back to this article and saw this: I did not know that's how the "soap" worked. I knew you didn't use "normal" soap due to the foaming problem. I guest that's why people say dishwasher's tend to etch glasses.

Or perhaps, he got really tired of the drama, spoke to a makeup artist, they developed a wig substitute and HBO said, "Yeah, ok" after seeing some test photos.

"Crunchy on the outside, chewy on the inside. I love 'em" - Mr. T. Rex.

So, Liberace invented the ant suit? I don't remember that from the comic at all.

Back in late 90's, when people were panicking about the impending year 2000 apocalypse, I told our IT shop to just set the date Jan 1, 1916 and focus on adding '84' to all years that appeared on screens and reports. They didn't take the joke well.

Generally, yes, Vancouver stands in for the entire universe but if IMDB is to be believed - and it's right up there with Wikipedia so cross your fingers - this show set in Portland really is filmed in Portland.

Brando really was fit back then.

The Sphinx looks like the ideal setting for a "last remains of humanity" novel, no?

Gaun Yin is a buddhist bodhisattva who embodies "compassion" ("She who hears the cries of suffering in the world") She's often depicted with a thousand arms, each holding an instrument for alleviating that suffering.
