I'm really thinking about using DreamHost for my father's blog. I originally suggested Fivebean for his, though whenever I try making a ticket, they take forever to respond to it.

@DPeezy: Justhost and Bluehost are the same service, just with different names.

@eien: A little warning, I knew a guy that had MediaWiki installed on a bluehost account, which got extremely popular, using a lot a resources. He got suspended. You'll be fine for a small personal site, though if you get Dug/Lifehackered/TWiT Lived, you'll not hold up well.

VOTE: Fivebean.

@mynamesafad: I for one use a beige 15" Dell CRT next to my silver/black Dell LCD. The CRT is there for an IRC window, System monitor widget, RSS widget and weather widget. I sometimes have steam chat windows up there too. Plus I can ramp up the refresh rate to 100 hz.

I'm 16, though my setup is such a mess that one of you wacky Ikea fans will drop dead.

@kb: Xbox, Zune, Games for Windows Live, Live Messenger, Live Mail, Skydrive, Microsoft Office Live and a few others.

@Asian Angel: I use hotmail, though I sort of have to. In my area, Live messenger is dominant. I use Games for Windows Live. I own a Zune. I own an Xbox 360. I also happen to have an @msn.com address, which is 1 less character to type compared to live.com. I also get very little spam in this account.

@Blakamin: If you get spam, mark it as junk mail / block the sender or domain.

Gabe Newell (CEO of Valve Software) is pretty active in reading fanmail, I bet he has a few minutes to fill out an email for lifehacker.

@holyspidoo: With a hard drive and Windows XP, It takes 10-ish seconds from when I enter a the BIOS password to restore from a hibernation.

7 Seconds?! Nice!

Fivebean has really good shared hosting for $24 a year with a domain name. Price goes down if you buy in in multiple year chunks.

Why is this a problem? If you were actually interested in looking at the product on another site, you might have searched the others as well.

@MaXimillion: My Windows 2000 Pro server has been up for two months.
