Which makes perfect sense. If the local team leaves, there’s that much less for local sports writers to write about. Would be nice if they spelled out their conflict of interest in writing about these things.

This is like Paul Ryan being a huge Rage Against the Machine fan.

I have mixed feelings. I get the idea that you don’t want the heroes of the story to die on a random kobold critting. But at the same time, the difference between a collaborative story-telling endeavor and playing through something thought out at every step by the DM is that there’s the chance for things to go wrong.

When I was in high school and playing D&D, I loved the combat. But now it just feels so disproportionately long relative to everything else. I like to think that I’ve gotten better about making combats more relevant to the story, so they feel like the stakes are higher, but if you have more than one fight a session,

Yeah, a pinch of salt in beer is old-school and German, or at least German-American, I think.

Shut it all down.

This cracks me up. Now I’m imagining the person taking the picture saying, “Smile!” and then a moment later thinking, “Fuck! Shouldn’t have said that!”

Those sound amazing! But how have you never had sweet pierogi? As a kid growing up in the Rust Belt (which overlaps with the Pierogi Belt), I think apple was like the third type I ever had.

Wow, that does seem low. That said, I’m happy not to get a never-ending stream of sprays and player icons. Already got the new Orisa intro, so everything else is just gravy at this point!

It’s always been just 1 free one per event, as far as I can remember. I only got one, and am endorsement level 4. Are you level 5? Is that one of the perks?

Looks nice. Now, Sony, for your next trick, why don’t you fix PSN so it’s not hot garbage?

It probably hurts in the sense that if you have a trusted relationship with someone that you feed info, they can feed info to you, and presumably help you spin your narrative when it comes to it.

I’m thinking of that one apartment in “Seven” with all of the air fresheners hanging everywhere.

This is all about money. The induction ceremony is a whole weekend-long thing, there’s a festival, the game, etc.—and a lot of it is televised. Now, if marquee players start skipping to create a competing event, it reduces the value of the whole HoF induction shindig.

I wonder if this is in part a response to this article that just came out on July 31st, in which the author argues that Trump has never come @LeBron because even Trump knew he couldn’t go that far. Sounds like someone read it (we know Trump didn’t!) and told him, “Hey—this guy says you’re afraid to criticize LeBron!”

Yeah, very few minis in Gloomhaven. That said, it’s the best dungeon-crawling board game I’ve ever played by a mile (though I’ll always have a soft spot for HeroQuest).

I would agree. I feel like she’s much harder to play against, and I’m seeing a lot of Syms getting PotG since the change (not that PotG necessarily means anything...).

I think that her teleport is going to completely change the game by putting characters in places they couldn’t otherwise get. But it’s going to take time and higher-level play (especially OWL) for people to figure out those game-breaking tricks. Ultimately some of it might filter down to lower levels...so useless in

Been following any of the news about teachers’ strikes?
