Totally agree. My child’s school uses this method in some discussion-based classes, and up to 25% of your overall grade is based on how much you speak up in class. As in, you can get 100% on every paper and test and still get a C in the class if you aren’t vocal enough. It’s an aggressive atmosphere, and terrifying…

Yeah, really. My kids had participation trophies and then real ones. In the end, it doesn’t matter. They figure it out. I assure you there are no HS kids, athletes or not, thinking participation trophies make them special.

My daughter has “silent” celiac. She only had symptoms that didn’t seem to be related, so she went undiagnosed for years, causing a lot of internal damage.

I just had to de-gluten my house because my daughter was diagnosed with Celiac. Gluten is in EVERYTHING. Soy sauce. Mustard. Barbecue sauce. Soup. Some canned beans. Most cereal, even rice-based. Candy. Lipstick. Sunscreen. Certain nail polishes. Even half of the tea bags we had.

I can assure you that my 13 year old isn’t faking. The “gluten free fakers” wouldn’t take this pill, anyway, because they are into weight loss.
